This quarter we are featuring new technology from Air Products and Chemicals Inc. In April 2006 Air Products officially completed their acquisition of Tomah Products. Tomah has long been a manufacturer of ether amines, ether amine derivatives, and alcohol ethoxolates. Their trade names, Tomadol linear alcohol ethoxylates, Tomamine ether amines and Tomadyne surfactants, have long been linked with quality and superior performance in the chemical industry.
For years car wash formulators have voiced issues with mineral seal oil emulsifiers available in the market. These products, typically derived from coconut fatty acids, vary greatly from batch to batch. The variability in the naturally derived molecule resulted in formulators always having to tweak their batches to yield a stable micro emulsion emulsion. Formulators also took issue with the excessive amounts of glycol ether, and mineral seal oil needed to hold the final product compound together. As the time has passed, and petroleum based chemicals have gotten more expensive, the need provide a high-performing, consistent drying agent at a good value has increased.
Air Products / Tomah has done just that…
Introducing Tomamine Emulsifier 300:
- Based on a synthetic molecule guaranteeing batch consistency
- Provides optimal beading characteristics to get the car dry
- Specifically formulated for less MSO and glycol ether use
Introducing Tomadry DAB:
- Boosts drying efficiency
- Improves shine and durability
- Reduces damage caused by acid rain, bird drop, tree sap and dust build up
- Improves water repellency of treated surfaces
